Doctor Education and Training

After completing her schooling from Delhi’s most prestigious school The Mother’s International School, New Delhi, Dr. Urvashi focussed on her medical entrance. Through her hard work and dedication, she was able to crack the ALL INDIA MEDICAL ENTRANCE EXAM, and gained admission in Government Medical College, Miraj, on merit basis. She was always clear from day 1 that she would get her education only from a government college on merit basis, and not through a donation or paid system.

After clearing her MBBS in 2005, she aimed at working at and serving poor patients in a government hospital. She chose none other than the well known and highly prestigious Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi for the same. She served her internship period in Safdarjung Hospital in 2005-2006. It was a great learning experience to work in multiple departments of the Safdarjung Hospital under the most senior and best doctors of Delhi. Doing rigorous duties day and night made her tough and inculcated in her the attitude that patient care is of the utmost importance, for which as doctors we must be ready to forego our own comfort.
After her internship, she once again cracked the All India Entrance Exam for her MD, and again gained admission on merit basis for her post graduation. Dermatology was her dream and passion, and she did not think twice when she got the chance to take a seat in one of the top Government Dermatology Departments in India, at DR. S. N. Medical College , Jodhpur. There, under the guidance and training of some of the best dermatologists and dermatosurgeons in India, like Dr .M.K. Singhi, Dr. Rajeev Khullar, Dr. Vinod Jain, Dr. Dilip Kachhwaha, she learnt dermatosurgery, cosmetic dermatology and hair transplant.

Once she completed her MD in dermatology in 2010, looking at her medical base and education she immediately received an invitation from a well known and leading global brand for hair restoration to join them. She took up the opportunity and underwent extensive training under international hair transplant surgeons from Greece.

  • After Completing her MD in dermatology, Dr. Urvashi joined the prestigious hair restoration clinic in New Delhi in 2010. It was a great experience to work as a hair transplant surgeon with the global leader in hair transplants. During her tenure there, she performed many celebrity hair transplants.   • In 2012, Dr. Urvashi was invited as faculty to the AEGEON Masters Meet in Athens, Greece to show how to perform perfect hair transplants. Doctors from across the globe had attended the conference.
  • After completing a high number of surgeries, she went on to become the medical director of the Academy, where her role was to train international teams to perform hair transplants in their respective clinics. She trained teams from Australia, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and many other countries to perform direct hair transplant in their respective clinics. So, this made her a renowned hair transplant specialist not only nationally but also at an international level.
  • In 2014, Dr. Urvashi was awarded the certificate of Diplomate, American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ABHRS), a title given to select few doctors across the globe, who have proven their skill in hair transplant through multiple successful results and have showcased their knowledge in the field through a tough oral and written exam. This is the one and only examination across the globe, conducted to evaluate the skill and knowledge of a hair transplant surgeon.
  • In 2015, Dr. Urvashi started her own world class hair transplant centre, Chandra Clinic, where she was able to combine her knowledge and experience to give results that were extremely gratifying.
  • In 2018, Dr. Urvashi went on to become an examiner in ABHRS, where her role was to assess new budding hair transplant doctors of their capability, and knowledge about hair transplant.
